I have been lucky enough to work alongside Gill at Hinderton School for a number of years and would thoroughly recommend her child minding and respite care venture. Gill is a dedicated and knowledgeable HLTA and will be greatly missed at school.
Please see below a list of just some of her personal qualities/skills:-
The children always come first.
She understands and is sensitive to their needs.
She provides a safe and structured environment where children can develop their imaginative play, as well as being encouraged to explore and learn new skills.
Gill gives the children in her care stability and confidence and has an innate ability to calm them if they are unsure/upset.
Gill also has a deep knowledge of autism.
Gill has a good rapport with staff and will always listen to, and support parents.
Her sense of humour makes her a fun person to be with and her loyalty and friendship is unswerving.
I wish her happiness in her new venture and have no doubt that it will be a success.
Angela Harris - Teacher/Colleague/Friend
Gill has been working at Hinderton School as a teaching assistant for the past 8 years. She further developed her skills to lead and support pupils across the whole school by successfully studying to become a higher level teaching assistant 2 years ago.
Gill ensures a professional attitude combined with a caring nature when working with and supporting pupils. She has always been encouraging and respectful towards the children in her care. Above all she enjoys playing with and interacting with children and this is evident in her enthusiasm to continually plan different activities and develop new and exciting resources.
Gill has an abundance of creative energy with many brilliant ideas which have been channelled into numerous projects in the outside and inside learning environments at Hinderton School.Parents should feel safe knowing that she has the understanding, knowledge and a wealth of adaptable skills to support children on the autistic spectrum.
I would happily allow my children to be cared for by Gill.
Good Luck Gill with your Childminding and Respite Venture

To whom it may concern,
I am an Early Years teacher in an Autism Specific Primary School and I have had the pleasure of working with Gill for the past 6 years both as a Teaching Assistant and as a HLTA covering my planning and prep time. Gill is a very creative individual who has a strong belief in learning through play. She has planned and taught high quality child centred activities in my class and she understands that using the children’s interests and creating highly motivating learning experiences is the key to engagement and success. Gill is experienced in planning lessons in line with the Early Years framework and outcomes and she has a wealth of experience in assessing children against the development matters ages and stages from 0-11 months up until the Early Learning Goal outcomes.
As an Early Years Practitioner I would highly recommend Gill as a child care professional. She is passionate about what she does and best of all she is a friendly, approachable and nurturing person who will strive to achieve the best for the children and families she works with. I wish her every success in the future.
